Join us for a special Tuesday Talk with Rich Wandschneider as he explores The Two Chief Josephs on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from noon–1 PM at the Josephy Center for Arts & Culture.

When people are asked who is buried at the Wallowa Lake Indian Cemetery, there is often confusion. Many—even longtime residents—don’t realize there were two Chief Josephs. And if they do, they may not know where the other Joseph is buried.

This engaging history talk will untangle the story, weaving together the lives, leadership, deaths, burials—and one reburial—of the two men who carried the name Chief Joseph. Rich brings deep local knowledge and thoughtful storytelling to this important piece of regional history.
